The game introduces a multiplayer component to the series presented as a Templar training program. Ezio is free to explore 16th century Rome to complete side quests outside of the main story. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is based on a third-person open world with a primary focus on using Ezio and Desmond’s combat skills and stealth to eliminate targets and explore the environment. Intersecting with these historical events are the activities of today’s series protagonist Desmond Miles, who relives the memories of his ancestor, Ezio, to find a way to fight the assassins’ enemies, the Templars, and prevent the apocalypse.
